Job Description
Manage the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial information.
Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards.
Coordinate and oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely completion of financial statements and supporting schedules.
Prepare and review financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses, providing insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making and financial planning.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and implementing corrective actions or improvement initiatives as needed.
Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships, ensuring efficient cash management and adherence to financial policies.
Collaborate with other departments, such as Procurement, to optimize purchasing processes and ensure accurate and timely recording of expenses.
Oversee tax compliance, including timely filing of tax returns, preparation of tax provisions, and coordination with external auditors for tax-related matters.
Lead and develop the accounting team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance skills and promote a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Stay updated with changes in accounting standards, industry regulations, and best practices, and ensure their timely implementation and compliance within the organization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or similar role within the hospitality industry or a related field.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Familiarity with hotel-specific accounting systems, such as Opera, Fidelio, or similar property management systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights and recommendations.
Proficiency in financial management software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
